Shared folder becomes Symbolic Link

Greeetings.

I've run into a problem and I can't find any references to others having the same, or similar, issue. Here is a description - as best as I can give. I'm running Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) although the problem was happening under 10.4 as well. I've got Parallels 3.0 build 5160 with a Windows XP virtual machine.

I configured Parallels to share a folder ~/Documents/Office Documents. In Windows, I mapped drive "z:" to the shared folder. I then configured Windows use this mapped drive as the target for the "My Documents" folder.

Unfortunately, now I can no longer see the "~/Documents/Office Documents" folder through Finder. And, when I use terminal to ls the directory, it appears as a symbolic link.

Is there any way to fix this so that both the Mac and virtual machine can both access the folder (and have the folder show up in Finder)?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Solved - I think.

I think I found the answer - albeit I still don't know why/what happened. I configured Parallels to share my Home folder with Windows. Then from within the Windows VM, I opened My Computer and navigated to the /Documents folder. I noticed that Windows thought the Office Documents folder was hidden and read-only. I unchecked both check-boxes and applied to all folder and subfolders. Voila - I can now see the Office Documents folder via Finder on the Mac.

Again, I've got no idea why Parallels would set this folder to hidden and read-only. Oh well.
