Shared Folders and file name case sensitiveness

Hi,

Is there any way to force Parallels to ignore case sensitiveness when using shared folders?

I have HFS+ without case sensitive support, but when working with batch processing in XP, file name case sensitiveness errors occur.

Just try creating a file named Test.txt in any shared folder and from command line try:

dir Test.txt
dir test.txt

After reading about this and hitting my head on this as well, I want to post my similar wish as well.

HFS is case preserving and not case sensitive
- Finder behaves case insensitive
- Terminal behaves case sensitive

Now I'm sharing osx folders within WinXp through parallels, to enable TimeMachine backup of Windows files.

- Explorer behaves case insensitive
- CMD (Dos commandline) behaves case sensitive

However: Having all files locally on my Windows drive makes CMD behave case insensitive.

Is there any way to think of a feature within Parallels or other configurable method to have CMD behave case insensitive on shared folders? I realize this is not a current situation, I'm just trying to explain my personal need for such a functionality...

Perhaps I'm overlooking something, but...

FAT(32) is also case preserving and case insensitive, just like HFS.

Is it not possible to think of a feature implementation which would allow CMD to act as such on a Parallels file share? Windows to Windows shares don't seem to suffer from this.

Finder behaves case insensitive on HFS, Windows Explorer behaves case insensitive on Parallels shares. I simply don't get it. Is it that the Parallels share uses AFP instead of SMB or something like that? It would perhaps make Windows think that the share is unix-like and make it behave case sensitive. Than what would be a workaround if no feature request is honored? :)
