I've setup macOS VM using Parallels 19 on MacBook Pro 14" M3 Max. The issue i have right now is that the My Shared Files location (the host home folder) is not showing. On my old M1 Max - it shows. I've checked the config it is identical, even that i haven't touched it on my M1 - it was working by default.
Hi KoCMoHaBTa, Thank you for the feedback. This is a known issue with macOS 14.2. There is a workaround, that Parallels customer service described at https://kb.parallels.com/130016. The issue might be addressed in the next macOS update, so you can try Apple Beta if it works for you.
Hello, Same problem after upgrade to Parallels Desktop 20 Pro Edition (20.0.1-55659). Shared folders disappeared from macOS VM (neither Sonoma nor Ventura) but work fine in macOS Windows VM. Regards, jane
I have the same problem after just updating to Pro 20.0.1-55659. Is this a known issue? Is there an ETA on a fix?
I have the same issue on Parallels Desktop Business Edition 20.0.1-55659 on VMs with macOS Ventura & Sequoia (I didn't try Sonoma), with host macOS Ventura & Sonoma (I didn't try Sequoia). My current workaround is to use Parallels Tools 19.4.1 inside the VMs. Only then shared folders are working.
I forgot to mention in my last post that it refers to Intel Macs. I didn't try running on Apple Silicon yet.
Same here: Just upgraded to Parallels 20.0.1 on my Intel mac (macOS 14.7) and now my shared folders aren't working on my macOS VMs either. Windows VMs: Shared folders working normally. Steps I took: * On the host mac: I tried removing then re-adding "Documents folder" permissions for Parallels Desktop from System Settings / Privacy and Security / Files and Folders: No change. * on the mac VMs: Reinstalling Parallels Tools on the VM and rebooting multiple times: No change. * On the host mac: I tried adding "Full Disk Access" permissions for Parallels Desktop from System Settings / Privacy and Security pane. No change. This is clearly a Parallels bug, and a serious one - without Shared Folders my workflow is dead.
Came here for the same issue. At first I thought I messed up some permissions but when I tried a copy I had made of the Virtual Machine without the updated tools, it worked fine until I updated.
I had backups of my VMs, so I didn't need to reinstall the old Parallels Tools. The only method I know of is to downgrade Parallels Desktop first. After that, you can reinstall the Parallels Tools inside your VMs, and then update Parallels Desktop back to the latest version. Here is the link where you can download previous versions of Parallels Desktop: https://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/download/
