I've been wrestling with this for weeks. I have two M1 Macs and both have an intermittent connection issue using shared network. If I wait long enough, it seems to eventually connect... I've seen it happen after waiting days. Once connected, it seems fine and stable for long periods of time (again, days). I just have to keep everything running and hope that nothing updates because the problems usually arise after an update from Parallels, Parallels Tools, Win11 on VM, or the Mac.

I have contacted Parallels support a couple of times about this to troubleshoot. The last person I spoke with suggested turning off antivirus to see if it helps. Discouraged with this advice (I don't have the proper permissions to do this), I let the machine sit for a day or two, and voila, it was connected on its own.

I will try the suggestion above about removing Parallels VrtlIO Ethernet Adapter and rebooting.

Ha! While writing my message above, it connected on its own again. I'm not going to fiddle with anything. When it happens again, I'll try the workaround and report back.

I was hopeful that my earlier magic "reconnection" would be persistent, but alas, it was dropped after about 30 minutes. I left if alone overnight to see if it would reconnect on its own - nope. This morning, I shutdown the VM, Quit Parallels, and restarted Parallels then the VM (didn't restart the Mac). Eureka... Shared Network worked immediately. o_O

I've had the same problem network connectivity problems since upgrading to version 19.3.0. After running for a while, the Shared Network stops working. Switching from a Shared Network to a Bridged Network lets the VM talk to the internet but breaks connectivity I need between the host and the VM. Only shutting down the VM and Parallels and restarting fixes it.

I've been playing with IPV4 and IPV6 issues, and have been testing removing IPV6 on the Mac wireless and wired interfaces.
I had good connectivity, shared when wired at my desk, but major headaches once I go wireless. I lose all network on the windows VM even though I have access on my host Mac. keen to see what people see with this change

For me Shared Network works correctly only after changing Shared_Net_Address in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.vmnet.plist

    I followed this steps : https://kb.parallels.com/129984

We have tried everything described here and the best we saw was a 2 day improvement. Reached out to Parallels Support who informed us that this is a known issue and in 19.3 and should be fixed in an update. In the meantime, per their instructions, enabling Full Disk Access for Parallels worked.

Could you share your case ID or the reference to the known issue? We have had this problem in several versions and would like to see a solution or workaround.
The workarounds suggested (Removing the Parallels VrtlIO Ethernet Adapter or giving Full Disk Access) don't work for us.

Looks like the latest update (19.3.1) did nothing to correct this problem. :(

I started having this problem yesterday for the first time on 19.3.1. This is on an Apple M3 MacBook pro. Curiously, an M2 MacBook Pro is not having the problem. Something must trigger it to stop working.

Same problem. New install of Parallels 19.3.1/Win11Pro on M2 / Sonoma 14.4.1. Internet connection worked fine for the first few days but now can't get any connection at all.

after update to parallels 19.4 today on Mac mini m2 with installed Sonoma 14.5 same issue also for me. very annoying. seems that parallels is not able to fix this issue.
all fixes not working like resetting, re-installing tools, switching from shared to ethernet brings Internet connective back on the windows 11 vm.
seems like identifying internet not able to reach the network on the Mac

Are there any updates on this issue? I need the shared connection functionality.

It is back again: Shared network not working, Bridged does work but is useless for me.
Windows 11 Enterprise (21H2) on Apple M1 pro running Sonoma 14.5
Everything I tried does not work anymore:
    • Removing VirtIO network driver in Windows device manager and rebooting
    • Setting TimeSync Enabled=0 in config.pvs
    • Setting Resource usage to unlimited
    • Shutting down the VM and restarting parallels
    • Rebooting everything several times
Sometimes it will magically fix itself, but without doing anything big it can stop working too. I am so frustrated right now, because I need it to work to be able to do my job.
I am more than willing to provide any technical data to help the Parallels developers if it helps to fix this problem, I don't want to use this software if it is this unreliable for me.

This issue persists now for quite a long time at least on my parallels and no solution was permanent.
Since my shared network was working fine before and after reading all those posts here i assume it must be related to some internal changes in the parallels software.
Its not acceptable that the default network connection is not working in a paid product and no bugfix is provided for such a long time.
I also need the shared network connection to reach VPN endpoints from the VM at work everyday.

Seems the only correct solution. Looks like the update of Parallels with currently connected VPN grabs the wrong addresses into the Parallel's network configuration ( file /Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml ). I did how it describes ( didn't change the mac configuration though, only network.desktop.xml). The shared network started to work immediately.

I was able to SORT OF get this working... but DHCP (within a Win VM) via Parallels Shared Network does not work. To connect to my VPN I have to 1. Switch to shared network mode, 2. hard code my VM with an IP address within the "DHCP pool" that Parallels is set up to give out to VM, but DOES NOT.

This is a huge pain as I have to constantly switch between setting up my VM for DHCP (normal operation) and static IP (only when trying to use shared networking)

Same issue suddenly came to me since few days ago. I tried all the methods in this post, but none of them worked for me.
Only bridged(Wi-Fi) could have internet connection but I have to use Shared network with VPN.
