Single point of disabling all notifications.

some of this is Apple's fault ... the assumption that notifications are good, our workflow needs constant interruptions, and that all notifications are on by default!!! I would like to see all notifications off by default, or at least a single menu option that will turn them ALL off. At the moment, they seem to be notifications per individual applet !!!
