Ghost snapshots and compressing
The virtual hard disk is now 115 GB, although inside Vista, only ~50 GB are used. I tried to use Compressor to shrink the virtual hard disk, but it said I couldn't because I had snapshots. I threw the snapshots into the trash before I realized I should use the snapshot configuration tool to delete them. When I then used the tool, it gave an "error code 22" message, but appeared to work, that is, there are no longer snapshots shown in the snapshot tool. However, I still can't run Compressor for the same reason: there are still snapshots of the hard disk.
The only place I could find references to "snapshots" is inside of the Disk Descriptor.xml file inside the .hdd bundle. However, when I delete the <Snapshots> element, the guest OS no longer boots.
How can I really get rid of the snapshots at this point and reclaim that huge amount of wasted disk space?
