slow cd rom drive in parallels?

Hi, I'm not sure if i'm missing something here........I have a c2d mbp 2.33. I notice when i install software in windows xp through parallels, the install seems to take a long time, longer than if i was installing it on ox10 or on a windows native machine.

Is this correct? Is it slower?

I had no basis for comparison when I did mine but it seemed slower than I had patience for. I created an iso from the image and installed from that. Much faster.
