Slow data transfer using SCP from osx to a ubuntu guest

Hey Guys,

when I transfer data between osx and my guest OS which is running ubuntu 7.x. I do experience extreme slow data transfer of around 20Kb/sec.

I tried different network options, but all result in the same slowness. Anybody got a idea what's going on? it takes 1:15 minutes to transfer a 90MB file!!!
