Smartselect EXE files

I'm having a hell of a time getting a setup EXE file in mac to run in windows. When I double click it opens my default extractor for zip files, etc. in mac. When I say open with there's not an option to use parallels or windows xp or something like that. So far there's little to no documentation on this feature or how to change it.

What are you supposed to do?

Drag it onto your windows desktop, then double click it.

In 3.0 it should run automatically directly from Mac. But you should run Explorer in Windows at least ones to establish this association.

Or you can right click on EXE and Open With and choose Windows Explorer from Shared Win Apps in your VM folder.

when i launce an EXE from OSX in Windows Explorer, it asks "Save, open" etc and i hit open and it never actually opens.
