Snapshot manager hangs

When I try to make a snapshot, the "creating snapshot..." window appears but the process never completes. I've let it run as long as overnight.

Hi TucsonTom,

Can you please provide us few information.

1) Are you able to work on other applications When Snapshots hangs ?
2) Please check the CPU Usage in Activity Monitor ( from Mac side ) when the Snapshots hangs.
 
1) I am able to work on the Mac side, but not the Windows side.
2) I'll do this the next time I decide to allow a snapshot to be taken. I'm a little leery now.
 
Hi everyone,

I've got the same problem. Create Snapshot has been running for over 6 hours now!

Mac works fine. Windows was stopped at the time I started this.

Parallels Desktop process is hovering between 9.8 and 10.1 in the CPU column of the Activity Monitor.

Is it safe to kill? Will I damage my vm? I need to get started on my work in the Windows vm.

I killed it without any harmful side effects by force quitting parallels. I was afraid too, but everything was fine when I ran parallels again. The snapshot feature still doesn't work; I just don't use it. Too bad.
