Snapshot modify original hdd can we save the original

here the test i do...

VM 1

1- i create a win 7 VM with black background
2 -i do a snapshot name 01

VM 2

1 - i create another VM and link the existing hard drive from my previous VM to it
2 - boot on it and got the black background
3 - change the background to something else...
4 - snapshot
5 - shutdown

VM 1
1 - boot on my VM1

Result
++++++++++++++
i got the background of my VM #2

Expected result
++++++++++++
have black background


conclusion is that you actualy change the original HDD file while in session event if you snapshot.
is there a way to make sure you don't modify the original HDD images ?
