Solaris 10.1 install fails

The install fails/stops at different places along the installation each time.

However, I always get this initially when creating the new VM and it starts for the first time for Solaris 10

I'm just now trying to install Solaris 10 Update 3 (11/06) from DVD ISO image and it now mounts the drive properly but simply stalls at "Searching for configuration file(s)..."

Anyone have a workaround?

I've just installed Solaris 10 11/06 from the DVD ISO with no problems. What are the settings for your VM?

I have noticed, the old issue of it only booting OK now and again is back.
 
I used default settings, (no gui could be used due to < 400MB RAM,) that install failed.

I used a custom, with all default settings except i bumped to 512 RAM, that failed...

I tried with no networking, 512 RAM.. that failed..

I got it to work one time, but after installation completed, it cannot boot.
 
Those I/O space messages don't appear to be a problem.

The biggest issue with getting Solaris 10 installed under Parallels is that Solaris tries to enable CD / DVD drive DMA and parallels seems to not like that. If you disable DMA on install it should go well.

In fact I just taught a Solaris 10 tutorial. For the class I build 60 containers inside of Solaris 10 (actually the Nevada release build 50), inside of parallels inside of Mac OS. I had 110 students logging in to the containers (2 per container). I was amazed that it worked! At one point there were > 5000 threads running inside solaris inside parallels. All this on my MacBook Pro C2D with 2GB of RAM. Virtualization works!

My RAM is currently set to 512. I didn't have an issue with the install ( I'm still on build 1970 ). When it fails, what does it do? Does it hang? Are there messages? There is an install walkthrough for PD that I wrote somewhere on the forums. It details the quickest/easiest way to get Solaris 10 installed.

My install did take several restarts for Solaris to start building it's SMF DB. It's still pot luck as to whether it boots first time. As I mentioned before, this is an issue that was resolved. If I thought there'd be any response, I'd log it with support, but I've been down that route before to no avail.
