I have done all this I have already done all that you suggested with no effect. I had already installed Windows XP Pro on my MacBook prior to installing Parallels. Would this have caused a problem, as I am not attempting to migrate the total contents and OS of my local PC? All I want to do is migrate applications and files from my local PC to my macBook.
Do you want to migrate applications and files from Windows XP (installed on PC) to Windows XP (installed on MacBook)? Parallels Transporter is able to migrate physical computer to Parallels Virtual Machine. It couldn't migrate programs without OS. To migrate programs and files between installed Windows OSes you need something like PCmover. p.s. please attach a log file from Parallels Transporter side for investigation.
Same here, i want to migrate a windows 7 box to my Mac, but cannot get past the password. I do use the correct credentials. I do not have a log file. (Although, i cannot find it...)
Try this: 1. On the machine you are trying to migrate, login locally as Administrator (or any user that's in Administrators group) 2. On the transporter agent on the server, when it prompt for userid/password, use the same one as #1
Use your account to run Parallels Transporter Agent if you want to use "Like a Mac" migration mode. In this mode Parallels Transporter will migrate your documents from a vm to mac. More info in our knowledge base: Migrating a Windows computer with multiple user accounts to a virtual machine
Clearly there is a problem with transporter. For so many folks reporting authentication problems it means something is broken with that process. Is there anything that Parallels can do to fix this considering this is an ESSENTIAL function for most to be able to migrate?
Solution to login problems I got this login problem too, when connecting from my macbook to my dell (windows 7) I added the domain to my login name I could login on the local account and on the domain account (separate of course) I used: DOMAIN\username Hope it helps somebody

I may not have seen the solution up there, but i made a new user named "admin" with admin rights. Then logged in using this format: WORKGROUP\admin then the password. (WORKGROUP is the name of your local network for that machine. Named MSHOME by default on some machines.)
Found answers Hello to anyone that is having this authentication problem. Well after a day of searching around window 7 I found why my machine was having this issue. Even though I change my user name and password many times as administrator for some reason it would not work. So I look under system properties Click on the Advanced tab Then click on the user profiles. I notice that there were two user profiles on my laptop and even though I log onto the computer as admin. The computer had named it something different. So I just I type that name with my admin password and it worked. Let RECAP. On the window 7 OS. Control panel > All Controls Panel > SYSTEM > SCROLL DOWN TILL YOU SEE CHANGE SETTINGS (UNDER COMPUTER NAME, DOMAIN, AND WORKGROUP SETTINGS) ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF SCREEN > ADVANCE TAB > SETTINGS (UNDER USER PROFILES) ONE OF THESE USER LISTED IS YOUR ADMIN ACCOUNT. JUST START AT THE TOP TEST THEM OUT TIL YOU GET THE RIGHT ONE. MOST LIKELY YOU WILL FIGURE IT OUT AS SOON AS YOU SEE IT. MINE WAS THE ONE I ORIGINAL SET THE COMPUTER UP WITH WHEN I GOT IT. HOPE THIS HELPS
>Control Panel > SYSTEM > Change Setting > Advance TAB > Settings (Under USER Profiles). Locate what windows is naming your admin account.
Got mine to work After much a-do, I got mine to work. I kept keying the correct name and password but it would not accept it. I change my name and password many times on the pc to still have it not work. I found in the user profile under system properties a name..... computername/name. This name is nothing like what I was setting up as a user. I on a whim keyed this name and the password I had assigned to my user account and things started working. Of course this was after 45 minutes of trying. There has to be a better way. First for Parallels to handle this in a simple way and second for Windoze to stop doing stuff that makes no sense. Of course that will never happen. -bt
