SP3 installation crashed windows-cannot start in safe mode

Hello-

So I am using Parallels v.4.0 and I just attempted to install windows xp sp3. My windows has crashed and I can't start it up in safe mode or in the previous install. Does anyone have any advice for how to recover my previous windows version without losing all of my files?

Also, I even if I re-install windows xp with sp2, I eventually need to install sp3. Does this not work in parallels? Please advise.

TaraB - I hope you got your answer resolved by the Parallels Team. If so, could you please tell us what the answer was? I have not been able to upgrade to SP3 from SP2 using Parallels virtual Windows machine via Internet Explorer.
