Speedtest strange results

Hi,
running speedtest on an OS X guest shows my download speed at ~30Mbps and upload at ~40Mbps. The host shows ~500Mbps download, an upload at ~40Mbps. Any pointers on how to improve the download speed within the guest?

Not sure what happened, it was very repeatable the day I posted the message. Today, host and guest are reporting the same speed.
