Starting Parallels 8 with out starting VM?

I've tried to press the command key and double click the icon for Parallels in my dock to get to the configure menu, but it will not work. I've also opened my applications folder and done the same thing with the PD8 icon there and have the same result.

Can anyone suggest a work around so that I can get to the "configure menu" without my VM starting up each time?

Help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
Hi Jim,

Just go to Configure > Options > Startup and Shutdown and set "Start Automatically" to "Never".
Next time when you start Parallels Desktop, it will not automatically start your Virtual Machine.
