Starting Win XP under Parallels on SuperDuper! backup volume

I regularly back up my MacPro start disk with SuprrDuper! from one 1Tb internal disk to an other exactly the same. Then I swich start up desks.
My Windows is XP SP3 with 2 Gb Memory allocated. It is not possible to start Win XP with this much memory until I do an additional upgrade with the combo-upgrade MacOSXUpdCom.bo10.5.4dmg. Earlier under Max OS 10.5.3 I had to use that Combo updater. Then everything works fine til I do the next SuperDuper! Backup and swich startdisk to the new backup.
There are many threads mentioning SuperDuper! in the forums but I could not find this information. Probobly I missed a relevant posting, but so might somebody else having the same problem.

I performed permissions repair after SuperDuper install, and starting Parallels Desktop directly from Applications/Parallels. Neither works.
The problem is not to START Parallels, the problem is to start virtualized Win XP with 2 Gb memory allocation.
And it occurs only with a 2 Gb memory allocation. A 1 Gb allocation starts without a combo-upgrade.
Error message:
"Parallels Desktop failed to allocate the specified amount of memory. Please restart Parallels Desktop and try again. To avoid this problem in the future choose from the menu: Parallels Desktop > Preferences. On the Memory tab select the "Enable virtual memory preallocation" option"

The error message generator did not notice that "Enable virtual memory preallocation" option IS selected.

What is going on? A problem, a treatment but no understanding.

On page 174 of Parallels Desktop for Mac User Guide, which you can download following the above link, it says:

"Main Memory.
The Main Memory parameter defines the amount of virtual memory (RAM) to be used by the virtual machine. You can choose any value from 4 to 2048 MB."

This might be confusing if you just support 1500 MB
