After the last time I restarted MacOS (something I've only done once in a week, and then only because the OS updated itself or something and demanded a restart), I also had to restart Parallels/XP VM Window. When Parallels started it, it asked me if I wanted to install the latest updated version of Parallels, which I guess downloaded itself and is lurking somewhere in the background waiting to be installed. The warning also said that I would then need to re-install Parallels tools. One of the things I like about Parallels at the moment is that it seems to be working flawlessly on my system. I have build 4128 and I would prefer not to mess with success at this point, considering the problems I had installing Parallels in the first place (took nearly 40 mins on the phone, half of that on hold, for their Dennis at their tech support line to walk me through installing from an HDD image instead of the Windows CD-ROM). And I read another post here from somebody who said they had problems installing Tools, too. So, like I said...I don't want to mess with success. So how do I tell Parallels to stop asking me if I want to do this update (next time I have to restart it, which could be days or weeks from now... ) Thanks, --PS
Look at the taskbar above when you click on parallels icon. There you will see "help". In there you have "check for updates". There you can make changes. Greetings
Oh, so it was just advising me that there was an update available for download, and by turning off the "check" for updates option, it will stop offering me updates? Excellent. Boy, that was easy... thanks. --PS
