strange error message

I have had this message serveral times before. last just minutes ago when I switched back from maclook to windows look. The vm stopped, several programs stuck. I first stopped the vm, then shut down with dropdown menu.
Restart without a problem, no data lost so far.

I run a Mac Pro
2 x 3 ghz
16 gig ram
2 x 500 gig hd
snow leo
parallels 5 with xp

Any idea?

I know that message... it sometimes shows up when you change a setting in the VM configuration while the VM is running. To my knowledge the settings are saved, and the message does not indicate any harm to your VM. Just reboot, as you did.
