Stuck!

I have recently installed Parallels and updated to Windows 8.1. It worked okay, and I updated the aps & all was well with the programs. However, today, I pressed the Parallels icon with the Windows Icon and 2 parallel red bars on the at the foot of the iMac screen. The bar at the top of my iMac screen changed to "Windows 8.1 View Actions Devices" but did not open Windows as it had previously done. I'm stuck now and would be grateful for some tips to access Windows. Thanks
