I very often move from my desk (where I have a fixed ethernet) to a meeting room where we have wireless, and back. When this happens quite often Windows XP loose the network connection and I get a message about "the network being very slow" (can't remember the exact wording) or the DHCP cannot get an addres and I have to restart the whole VM.
I've found a few ways to make it more manageable:
- force the VM to always use the Wireless (not as fast as the wired unfortunately)
- take the en1 interface down and back up (sudo ifconfig en1 down , ....) this seems to work most of the time
How is the automatic switching supposed to work. What are the best settings?
Thanks
jacques
PS This is on a MacBook.
PS2 I still have trouble believing how good Parallels is.
Parallels + MacBook really enabled me to use a Mac in a Windows corporate environment
