    Hello,

i'm trying to install 2x Application Server in a farm environment (2 terminal servers). On the second machine i only installed the terminal server agent as written in the manual.
Unfortunately the service 2x terminal Server Agent doesn't start. When started manually, it shuts down after a few seconds with the following message:
"The 2X Terminal Server Agent service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service"
I tried to edit the registry key as suggested in the other topic but without success.
When looking at the system events i found multiple errors concerning the agent with the event id 5000!

    Any help appreciated,

    Kasmen

Hi there could you please specify what are the errors found in the event log concerning the agent.

It's in German but I'll try to translate:

The description of the event id (5000) in (2X terminal Server Agent: Failed to initialize performance layer) wasn't found. the local computer doesn't have the necessary registry informations or dll-files for showing the events from a remote computer. maybe you have to set the flag /AUXSOURCE= to get a description. Further information can be found in help and support. Event information: 2X Terminal Server Agent: Failed to initialize performance layer.

    Hi there,

It seams that the problem is in the performance layer. Since the first terminal server is working i suggest you export the following registry key from the first terminal server:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib\

and install it on the other terminal server.

I know you might have already done this but i suggest you do it again and make sure you are replacing the old key with the new one. Also MAKE SURE that no other application is changing this key again.
