Parallels 10.3.0 (29227)
Mac Pro (Late 2013 model)
System Yosemite 10.10.5
Windows 7 via Parallels
Using the above, Parallels works great with no issues
Planning to eventually upgrade to System El Capitan, I did
a test install on a bootable external SSD drive as a
CLEAN INSTALL of System El Capitan.
All is good, so next I did a Migration-Assistant migration
from my Internal System Yosemite drive to the newly
created System El Capitan drive. I stipulated that
Migration Assistant migrate everything over.
Booting to my System El Capitan test drive went
flawless, so I launched Parallels 10.3.0 just to see
how it migrated over.
Looks good superficially, but things went bad quickly.
I have 5 USB devices that need to connect (3 Logitech, and 2 others).
These work flawlessly under System Yosemite.
On my System El Capitan drive, the tiny USB selector icon, top
right of screen, wouldn;t allow 3 of the devices to connect, so I
kept trying, and tried unplugging replugging the devices, etc.
Sometimes the checkmark would appear, then disappear,
sometimes the device would disappear from the menu then return.
Half the time, the menu would flash and turn white, disallowing
any selection or deselection of USB devices. Additionally the bluetooth mouse
cursor became too erratic to use.
Finally, after trying over and over, I got 3 of the devices to hold
the checkmark next to them; testing the USB devices resulted
in 100% connect failures of each, no matter what the menu setting.
Oh well. Such is the advantage of doing a test upgrade.
Question becomes, if I do the $50 upgrade to Parallels 11,
then will the USB selector work as well as it did under
System Yosemite, and will USB connectivity become just
as good (in other words, perfect) as it is in System Yosemite?
Will the use of the mouse become as stable as it is under
System Yosemite?
Need to ask before forking over the cash.
Thanks very much,
Jack
