I used PD 5160 daily without problems in Tiger, but when I upgraded to Leopard I continually get this aforementioned alert when I try to start PD. Can anyone advise?

    I have three button choices:

    Ignore (closes alert)
    Relaunch (returns the same alert)

    Hello PavlovStaugh,

Could you specify your Mac model?
I'd also appreciate you sending me the screenshot:
Click Apple on the Mac menu bar - About this Mac - More Info - Graphics/Displays.
Make a screenshot and send it attached to your next post, please.

    Best regards,
    Xenos

    ditto here

I have not had my MacBookPro long and PD seemed to work fine under initial Tiger -- then I installed Leopard and have had relaunch messages more often than actual launches. Seems to have gotten worse. I have tech support request in, but I really need a workaround quickly if there is one. Problem report info attached in text file.

    Xenos.

When I start my iMAC it won't launch. When I have it started and shut it down it won't launch. Everytime I get it going I am afraid to stop using it because I usually have to reinstall it. It just won't launch, it keeps asking to relaunch, I do and it doesn't work.

iMAC Bought in October, Leopard, 2G Ram, Maximum, WinXP Pro SP2

    Thanks
    Ryan

    Merry Christmas

    Merry Christmas, Ryan!

Please try uninstalling Parallels in the following manner:

Go to Finder - Applications - Utilities - Terminal.
Type and run the following commands:
    • sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/vmmain.kext
    • sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/hypervisor.kext
    • sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/Pvsvnic.kext
    • sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/ConnectUSB.kext
    • sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/Pvsnet.kext
    • sudo rm -rf /Library/Parallels/
    • sudo rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.parallels.*
Before you run these commands, please make sure that your VM hdd and pvs files are NOT stored in ~/Library/Parallels.

Reboot your Mac and reinstall Parallels.

    Best regards,
    Xenos

    Same Problem

I just bought a mac and just installed parallels & windows xp. I also loaded a bunch of my old windows stuff onto my virtual windows computer (didn't install windows using boot camp). I am having the same error message - Parallels won't launch. Does this mean that I have to re-install parallels & windows too? Did I just waist hours of work? I have Mac OS x ver. 10.5.2.

Ma1, did you try to uninstall Parallels the way described above?
You will not have to reinstall Windows because the virtual hard disk is not supposed to be affected.

    Best regards,
    Xenos

    problem solved

I downloaded the latest build and it now starts and works flawlessly. Nice testing environment for developing apps for windows.

How do I access a website on localhost? e.g., http://localhost/snark/index.php is running on apache on the iMac. How do I get to it from within parallels?

    Thanks.
