All, I've upgraded my test server from Server 2003 R2 to Server 2003 R2 x64. The old configuration ran ApplicationServer fine however the 64 bit OS now provides the following error when a client attempts to launch an application from the Application Client: "The system cannot find the file specified. This initial program cannot be started: memshell.exe Please consult help for more information". I suspect the problem may be in the Server Settings | Target which is automatically populated with the following info after I browsed for the required .exe: %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.exe I have made some modifications, including adding spaces between "Program Files (x86)" which appear in the physical path, but there has been no change. I can remote to the server using Admin credentials and the TS Licensing Server is installed and activated. Any assistance is warmly welcome.
I think I've resolved the issue. I've copied Memshell.exe from \windows\SysWOW64 to \windows\system32. The Applications Client now appears to be operating as normal. Can someone confirm that this solution is stable please?
Hi there, Yes you are right, the msi installation has a missing settings for 64 bit when installing Terminal server agent only. Memshell.exe needs to be copied from \windows\SysWOW64 to \windows\system32. If you use the 2x Console and remotely install the 2x terminal server agent, this issue does not occur. Nixu
Thank you Nixu, I have not tried installing the .msi remotely - the test server has only a few clients but I will try remote installation at the next patch. Excellent product by the way. Roman
