Time Machine Backup XP Files?

Does Time Machine include in its backup, my XP Data files? I do not need all of the XP programs, just the data files.

I am using XP, NO Bootcamp, Leopard, and Parallels V3.0 build 5582.

The quest OS is to Leopard one large hdd file with all content. I see TimeMachine backing up 18GB+ every hour I run it inside Leopard since the hdd file has been changed.

Yes, it does back-up Windows. If you do not want it to, then create an exception for the .hdd files.

Does it make a difference if the drive image is setup to use the smaller files (in a package)?

Well, as a general practice, you should be using the primary file and not a smaller file. As a practical matter in this particular case I don't think it makes a difference.

So you're saying that Time Machine is still a bad idea for backing up the Parallels disk images, even if the disk images are configured to use multiple smaller files instead of one larger one?

I can't believe that there isn't a clear message coming from Parallels on this one. Time Machine has been available for a number of months now and there doesn't seem to be a clear statement on backup strategies.

Not quite... It's space dependent really, but as a general practice, you should use the large file, and not the smaller ones.

Note that Time Machine does *not* back up Boot Camp XP partitions.
