To update or not update?

I have finally installed XP pro cleanly with parallels 3.0. Now...which xp updates do I need to install/sould I avoid? And, after installing the updates, do I need to rerun parallels tools again?

You just can download updates for windows without installing parallels tools.

When you install another version off parallels it normally autoinstall tools.

Which microsoft windows xp updates do I need to install...all? Just critical? Just the sp updates?

You can set windows that it automaticly updates the system.

Or just go to windows update via browser.

Microsoft will generally recommend which ones are needed on your system. I have installed them all, with no problems. You should not have to reinstall Parallels Tools after a Microsoft update (but you may after a Parallels update).
