Transfering and setting up a new VM from Acronis backup

I was able to make a complete backup of the C: drive before my old Windows laptop died, it was running Windows Home XP Sp3 . The problem is that I only have a full copy of XP professional and and after I install the OS and try and use the Acronis backup I get an error saying XP Pro is incompatible with the old XP home backup?

I would appreciate Any ideas how to setup a new VM with my Acrouns backup.
