Transported XP HE SP2 : login problem..

Hi all.

I'm new here but really pleased i bought/downloaded this cool app.. only 1 step away from selling my Sony Vaio.

I managed to trasport my Win XP Home SP2 install from my vaio, onto my iMac using the latest copy of Pv3.. (iMac dual core 2, 2gb ram).

the OS starts up fine, when i login to my user, I get the " this copy of windows needs to be registerd" so i click ok. then it says "this copy of windows is already registered, so i click OK again"

(the original donor OS works fine without any issues on my vaio)

Then... Windows Logs me off?

What's that all about?

This happens in a perpetual loop.

Has anyone had this problem before?

WinXP has an activation code tied to the machine. You may be running into that issue when you transfer it from the VAIO to a VM on your iMac.

Even trivial hardware changes in the same machine can cause such hiccups. And yours is not a trivial hardware change!

You may need to call MS support and use some story (my VAIO died and I'm installing Win on a new machine) to get a new activation code.
