There seems to be some confusion about whether Transporter will make a VM from Boot Camp partitions or not. I have build 1456 and the help/documentation implies that it is possible to make a VM from the Boot Camp partition.

Indeed, by running my mac in Boot Camp and loading XP Transporter, I was able to create .pvs and .hdd files. However, when I try to use the resulting virtual machine, I get the error message File /users/..../winxp.hdd cannot be used as a hard disk image. I have moved the image from my boot camp partition into my document space and have read/write access.

However, under the FAQ, there is a note dated October saying it is not possible to do this.

What is the truth - can I make a copy?

    Cheers
