Transporter never gets past "collecting information"

I have attempted multiple methods of using the Transport Agent to grab a Fedora 14 system snapshot: a network transfer and an external device transfer. Both methods result in the same symptom - indefinite wait at "collecting information...". I have let both wait for over 3 hours. I found the post about opening the MAC firewall but that didn't help. I have let both methods run for hours but nothing happens. Any ideas about getting this to work?
 
This is the maddening thing with Parallels. Its fine when it works, but when you have a problem.....
I too am seeing this and note the problem was posted 22 days ago and no response.
