tried to transport XP "hardware changes not supported"

I just tried to transport a real XP professional machine across a network in advanced mode and got the error message "making hardware changes in windows XP machines is not supported - are you sure you want to continue?"

I tried again in express mode and it transported, but just an unbootable disk image. Does anyone know what is going on? I have had no trouble transporting other XP machines.

Single user copy. But I have new copy of Windows ready to activate if i can transport it (which is what I did last time I transported). I am ready to trash the old laptop.

Any suggestions
