trouble installing Vista Business on build 1970

I am trying to do a clean install of vista and every time I go through it, i get "Windows could not update the computer's boot configuration. Installation cannot proceed."

Has anyone seen this before or know how to avoid it.

I have tried the express option as well as typical and custom.

Please help.
