I have 2 Macs one is and old Pro that is running El Capitan due to some apps i use will not work on a higher OS. Currently that Mac is running Parallels 8 and Windows 8.1. I wish to upgrade to Windows 10 as i believe this machine will not run Windows 11. I have already upgraded to Parallels 10 but i cannot get Windows 10 to install it keeps failing with an error saying something about safe OS. I probably need to bite the bullet and do a fresh VM install but then i will lose all my Windows settings and programs which i really don't want to do.
So questions is can this machine be updated to run Windows 10 without creating a new VM and if a new one is necessary do i have to delete the existing one first or just run the Parallels updater and go from there?
