    Hi.

I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 on Parallels 6 running on my Macbook Pro 15". I immediately (and unsurprisingly) ran into several issues.

    a) The trackpad works as a regular mouse, but there is no multi-touch gesture recognition (only two-finter scroll) and no preference settings for trackpad. At least I didn't find any.

    b) Also, bluetooth setup reports that there are no bluetooth adapters installed so I could not test my Magic Trackpad either.

    c) I can't get any sounds either, even though preferences show an audio device selected properly.

    What gives? :)

    Best regards,
    Mikko

Correction: forget the last one. Sound IS working! :) Just didn't have the settings correct.

But still no multitouch or bluetooth. Installed some synaptic packages and I now have "pointing devices" in the System/Preferences, but when I open it, it only shows "generic mouse" and no touchpad.

Just a question, does Ubuntu support multitouch? I thought it was still under development.

That's a good question. :) It was widely claimed that Ubuntu 10.10 would support multitouch, but maybe I just don't know how to enable it. Might be an Ubuntu problem. Perhaps I should test with Windows 7 first.

Running Parallels 6.0 on my Mac Book Pro (latest, v7 I think) with Ubuntu 10.04 and multi-touch most definitely works - I can do two finger scrolling (sweet). I don't have any apps that might support pinch zoom that I know of.

I think your problem may be that these features are not supported unless you have the Parallels guest tools installed and so far, AFAIK there isn't a version of the guest tools for Ubuntu 10.10. When I tried to upgrade to 10.10 from 10.04 I was left without graphics (command line only) and when I uninstalled the current guest tools before upgrading I was left without all the nice OpenGL, shared drives, and other features guest gives you.

I hope that Parallels will get their updated Linux guest tools out because 10.10 has been available as beta and RC for quite a bit now. Hopefully there isn't anything that will prevent it coming soon!

Hi all. Did anyone find out how to use the built in bluetooth in Linux under Parallels?

    Mouse not working at all!

I have parallels Build 6.0.11828 and a new Ubuntu distro installed. Initially the mouse worked fine, and now it is frozen whenever I boot up the virtual machine. Any ideas?
