ubuntu 606 and parallels 3188 - no parallels options available

Ubuntu installs and runs ok.
When I edit the xll.conf file it even runs full-screen (1280x800) on a MacBook!

BUT: I can't see the console symbols at all - this means I can't get back to running in an app window, so can't suspend or do anything other than quit parallels!! This is a problem even when running under lower rez: no options at all.

CTRL + ALT does not do anything. If I use Apple + H, the app hides and I'm back in the Finder, but still no way of pausing parallels

This was NOT an issue under build 1970.

This was NOT an issue under build 1970.

I had this same issue & another similar one with Windows. If you pause Windows it will leave the top OS X menu showing, but if you click on the Windows desktop it disapears & then you can't get it to come back to Resume the virtual machine. You can do an Apple+H to hide it & work back in OS X but clicking on Parallels brings up the paused window full screen again. This is the same thing that was happening with Ubuntu for me except it happened when Ubuntu was still running.

First try this:
1) hit Ctrl+option(alt)
2) hit Apple+, (shortcut to preference window)

If that works skip the next 3 steps & go to my ending note.
If that doesn't work try this:

1) hit Ctrl+option(alt)
2) hit Apple+H
3) right click on the Parallels Icon in the Dock & select Preferences from the menu

This will bring up Parallels with the preference window on the top & the menu bar restored. If you close the preferences window the menu will remain & there you go!

I hope this works for you, it worked for me on a MacBook Pro. Hopefully they will fix this soon.
