Check out the screen shot --> http://alphex.com/shares/cupsdhang.png

I'm trying to install off of the ISO sitting on my HD, I get past the "start ubuntu in graphical mode" and it gets to here, and just hangs...

    This is on Parallels 5160

Any advice on how to get it past this?
    Thanks.

    I'm having this same problem.

    I'm having this same problem.
    I haven't found a solution yet.

Is this a problem with parallels or ubuntu?

Oh, for what its worth, the alternate CD has problems of its own. I tried to do it with that last night and it couldn't get the xserver to start... and anytime I tried to install software during the install process it crapped out.

I got it running with a bash prompt, and no software though. (not quite ideal).

    Comments from dev/support staff?

Thanks for the info. At least I won't waste the time downloading the alternative cd.
I really just wanted to boot off the live cd in parallels and try it out.

I've heard it works fine in bootcamp and VMWARE FUSION. thats 2nd hand info though, so I don't know first hand.

    Hello,

duran.goodyear, please switch to another console and try to run 'startx' command:
    Ctrl + Alt + F1 -> type 'startx'.

ScArcher2, downloading alternative CD is advisable.

    Best regards,
    Xenos
