Ubuntu 8.04, Compiz, OpenGL

I have Ubuntu 8.04 running. I am trying to run Compiz which is a enhanced graphics for the XWindows. I am having issues. I think with the OpenGL acceleration. Is there hardware support for this? Can I install nvidia's drivers for this? Thanks.

I'm using 4-beta which is simply wondeful and stable! Does it already support Compiz? I downloaded and install it's packages but seems Compiz is not working. Maybe because I own simply an Intel GMA950 GA?
