I'm finding the Ubuntu 6.1 installers (both live and alternate) crash 3186 every time. A fresh download and install into a new machine simply bombs about halfway through. I've run this same installer in earlier versions without problems. I've sent the crash reports to parallels.

There's also something amiss with screen resolutions - it seemed to work ok in earlier versions, but no longer. It now starts up in 1024x768 (which is not very usable on a MacBook) and will not change to anything else. After a bit of tweaking around, it suddenly switched to 1600x1200 (which I didn't ask for), even though the control panel was set to 640x480. Most resolution changes are accompanied by an instant user logout.

Generally finding that linux is no longer usable under parallels, especially without any tools.

I fixed the installer crash - I only had 256Mb assigned to the VM. Increasing it to 512M let the installer complete. Mind you, I'm sure it shouldn't crash that hard anyway.
