Unable to eject CD

I loaded a CD with installation files for a windows application while the VM was running XP. The installation was fine. But I am unable to eject the CD from the drive. The eject button does not work in Windows or in Mac. I did switch from a windows screen to a MAC screen during the installation. But this is frustrating!! How can I get the CD to eject???

I restarted the computer and was able to eject the cd.
