I am running Windows XP Home as a client in Parallels 9 on Mac OS X Yosemite. I just noticed that I am unable to establish any secure connection from either IE or Chrome on my windows client. I receive the error that it is unable to establish a secure connection. I just installed a fresh instance of Windows from scratch, and the problem persists there as well. I could swear I used to be able to do this. Is there a Mac or Parallels level configuration option that I am missing which is preventing the establishment of https type connections. Examples are an inability to connect to either dropbox.com or iCloud.com from within the windows client under Parallels.

    Thanks for any thoughts.

Seems like a firewall/AV on the Mac side, you don't happen to be using Avast for Mac and have 'scan secured connection' turned on, do you?

That's what I've been thinking as well. I did have Avast for Windows on my first client which is why I re-installed that. I don't have Avast or anything else other than the native firewall running on the mac side. Going to turn off that firewall and see what happens.
