Unable to import Windows 7 VM from VMWARE

I have just down loaded a trial version of parallel trying to import a WINDOW 7 Virtual Machine from a VMARE environment. However I get the following error message:

"This virtual machine cannot be processed because something is wrong with its configuration or the virtual hard disks it uses. Please contact the Parallels support team for assistance."

The Windows 7 VM runs without any problem. Any one have seen this problem before and advise on how to resolve it.
 
Parallels transporter doesn't support VMware 3.x.x VM's No word on when & if they will.
I'm stuck too, beyond that I want to know what happens to VMtools that's installed on these images?
