Almost a year later, I can confirm that the method of going through your directory instead of the recent shortcuts works! Doesn't make any sense, but I won't complain

This is the trick. Don't use quick access defaults. Use mapped drives that you have to expand.

Ok, I have experienced most of the problems voiced in the thread as well as their somewhat erratic appearance. Made me crazy. Navigating through mapped drives is a workable but time consuming fix (thank you :) It led me to the following. I am speculating that there is some intermittent mapping snafu that unmaps the quick defaults and other mappings making the directory invisible at the solidworks level.

What works for me is to update in the file locations dialogue. open file/right click on any solidworks file/solidworks/file locations/add Be sure to follow a mapped drive down to the folder. Check the boxes, include subfolders, include solidworks file locations... The path should look something like Z:\Desktop\Solidworks Drawings not like \\Mac\Home\Desktop\Solidworks Drawings (this \\Mac\Home\ mapping is unstable). Also update Settings/system Options/file location/Referenced Documents, search path to include the same Z:\Desktop\Solidworks or your version

all problems are gone, system stable, quick access works
