Hi, I've used the Parallels wizard to create a new W11 VM on Sonoma Intel - I am using Parallels 19. When the process is complete, I am presented with a username and password to the new VM - I have not specified this anywhere - or been given the chance to, hence I have no idea what these credentials are and am unable to pass the login screen. This happens if I allow the installation to complete or I interrupt and choose 'Complete installation manually' (which itself allows no user input and is completely automated!) I'm in the process of downloading the ISO from MS and will try that, but this shouldn't be happening right? DBS.
Using the ISO, I got it working - but my God it's slow: MacOS Sonoma / 2018 Mac Mini i7, 32GB 2TB / Parallels 19 The Magic Touchpad lag is hilarious. This is the same for my Windows 10 VM on this Mac, since I have moved to Sonoma / Parallels 19, before that, there was no lag in my Windows 10VM - any ideas what could be causing this or has the new SW now dated the Mac?
FIXED. Make sure the settings in Parallels for your VMs are set to = Hardware | CPU and Memory | Advanced | Hypervisor = Parallels Mine had defaulted to 'Apple' after the 19 upgrade. There is the 'adaptive' tick in there as well, but I don't find, so far it's made much difference - perhaps if you were going back and forth between VM and host OS apps and using for heavier workloads on each Parallels will balance resources more efficiently. Oh and install Parallel Tools - that makes a difference to the window scaling behaviour and I detected a little reduction in mouse lag, but the largest difference was using the correct Hypervisor. HTH, DBS.
