unable to publish site

im having problems with publishing my website i keep getting this message can you advise me of what to do

An error has occurred during publishing via FTP. Please contact the server administrator.

the info was set when i purchased the package so i havent entered anything incorrectly myself - im not sure what i should do to solve this
