unable to re-install Parallels after latest update

i recently ran into trouble with the latest parallels upgrade that i downloaded. basically win xp stopped working completely.

so i tried to uninstall parallels and re-install it from the original cd i bought.

first i installed the cd and ran the uninstaller. then i deleted all instances of paralles in my /Library folder and my /User/Library folder.

then, when i went to re-install parallels off the cd, i got the following error message:
there is nothing to install.

i ran this re-install scenario a few times and its not working at all.

any advice?
