Unable to see files on a data CD

The drive is configured OK, and does seem to be able to play music discs, but cannot view files on a data disc. When a data disc is inserted, the title of the drive in Explorer changes from 'DVD-RAM drive' to 'CD Drive', so it can see what kind of disc is in the drive, but when you click on the drive it shows no content.
I'm running Windows XP on Parallels 10 in OS X Yosemite. It's a Samsung SE-506BB USB drive.
Anyone any ideas?
