unable to start guest OS after upgrading to PD7

I get a missing or corrupt hal.dll notice. Running MS os XP and do not know where the disk has gone to (been working for years...)

I do have the guest os running successfully on another machine - could I copy it from there to fix this issue?

I'm also not able to start windows 7 x64. It keeps wanting to load the Windows recovery which can't repair the problem. Please find out why this is happening!
