    Hi guys,

I'm starting to pull my hair out (not that I had a lot to begin with!), as I'm going around in circles trying to get X Server to start using Parallels 6 running CentOS 5.0 on a Mac Snow Leopard system - on a MacBook Pro (2010 model 6,2).

I've got various other UNIX/Linux's running without issue. According to the logfile, it is throwing out the error:

    Fatal server error:
    no screens found

I've tried several attempts at changing the resolution with the system-config-display command, but this hasn't made any difference.

Has anyone managed to get CentOS running with an X-server on a MacBook Pro?

If anyone has any suggestions, they would be most welcome!

    Thanks.

    Tony

Installed CentOS 5.5 from the DVD, and after several installations, a ton of updates, and several snap-shots, now have a working GUI!

Parallels Tools were refusing to install though. It came up with a weird permissions error even though I was doing it from the root account.

Got around it my copying the /media/Parallels Tools/ directory, to a temporary folder in root's home directory, and installed them from there perfectly.
