Hi. I discovered a strange issue with Parallels Tools for Windows. I recently migrated a existing Parallels Image to VMWare. The conversion itself went well so this is not an issue here. However, I still have the Parallels Tools installed in the VM and would like to deinstall it. Unfortunately, when I start the Deinstallation from Windows the Parallels Installer quits the Installer with a message that it has to be started in a VM. Well, I understand that it is required to install and use the Tools within a Parallels VM, but i simply want to remove the Tools. Do you know how this can be removed when the Machine is not longer a Parallels VM?
I'm having the same trouble Your suggestion is exactly what I'm trying and it gives me the same message. That windows needs to be running in a VM in order to run the tools... even though we're trying to uninstall it.
